MESSAGE FROM THE RELIGIOUS SCHOOL
My Dear Congregants,
We are just before the Seders, concluding our intensive studies for Pesach by having our
traditional Pesach Jewpardy. The winning class for the Monday/Wednesday classes was
Mrs. Marcus’ Vav class, and from Tuesday/Thursday was Mrs. Romano’s Dalet class.
All the children show a lot of knowledge and I hope they will be able to show it during
their Seders.
A week before Pesach we had our Pesach Fun Day. The children and parents had a
variety of art projects for Pesach; a walk through seder; all kinds of crawling creatures
(for the ten plagues) and matzah and chocolate spread for snack. We had a beautiful
morning and Kol Hakavod to our wonderful new family educator for a job well done.
Two weeks ago we followed the news of Toulouse, France very closely, and were very
upset and shocked to hear and see the horror. Dalet, Hay, Vav and Zayin students wrote
condolence letters to the community and the families.
Our Hay classes are getting ready for their Friday Night service and are working really
hard with Mrs. Stern, our Music teacher.
Vav students are working on their year long Shorashim (roots) project and will have a
gathering with the parents in May to show and tell.
Gimel parents had a very pleasant evening decorating their children’s Siddurim covers.
On the evening of Haggigat Hassidur on May 20th they will be the ones to present their
children with the Siddur, this way we will give a meaning to M’Dor L’Dor (from one
generation to the other).
Zayin graduation will be on May 30th and school will be over on June 5th.
This year our school is participating in Israel Day parade, and I hope to see you all
marching with us. It is a very special event and the feeling is really uplifting. It fills you
with pride to be Jewish. So let us all come and show that we care.
All the best, Ricky
