Social Action reminder: During the Carnival, the Social Action Committee will collect - soft-covered English-language books for children in Israel - laundry detergent, household cleaning supplies and toiletries for the needy in Wyandanch(Toiletries needed: toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash and floss; disposable razors, shaving cream, and aftershave; shampoo, conditioner, and combs; women's hygiene items.)

Dr. Wolfson is Dean of the Center for Jewish Education at the American Jewish University in Los Angeles and the president of Synagogue 2000-Synagogue 3000, a think tank dedicated to envisioning the future of Jewish life. An engaging and humorous speaker and popular author, he has addressed audiences all over the U.S. on the "Art of Jewish Living." Books will be available for purchase during the wine/dessert reception and discussion with Dr. Wolfson after his talk.

Every Friday, several congregants visit local assisted living centers to celebrate Shabbat with the residents, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. if you can volunteer to bring smiles to the faces of local seniors and share Shabbat joy, contact Jackie Hasson (JackiBernr@aol.com). Thanks for helping DHJC make a difference in our neighborhood,
